Join the fight for justice.
There is a reckoning happening across our nation. The stark reality of two justice systems, one for Black America and one for white, can no longer be denied. Here in Tennessee, our state has dusted off the electric chair to carry out executions, including the execution of those with strong claims of innocence and overt racial bias in their prosecutions. But you can help.
We need you. Sign up to help TADP fight to end the death penalty:
TADP’s mission is to end the use of the death penalty in Tennessee and the United States, and move to alternative forms of justice free from racism.

Pervis Payne
DNA could prove his innocence.

After Pervis Payne discovered the bodies of two murder victims, police arrested him and closed the case without bothering to investigate other suspects.
Police refused to drug test him, but prosecutors told the jury he was high and drunk. Pervis had no history of violence or substance abuse.
Prosecutors told the jury that Black men are hypersexual predators, and often referred to the victim’s “white skin.”
For years, the state refused to perform DNA tests, the one thing that might prove his innocence. The state of Tennessee plans to execute Pervis Payne in December, but you can help stop them.
Abu-Ali Abdur’Rahman
Eight jurors say they were misled.

More than thirty years ago, Tennessee prosecutors blocked qualified Black jurors from hearing the case of Abu-Ali Abdur’Rahman.
They altered witness testimony and withheld evidence to obtain a conviction. Today, eight of the jurors who sentenced him to death say they would not have done so if they heard all the facts. But he still sits on death row.
The county that prosecuted him wants to convert his sentence to life in prison, but the state of Tennessee intends to move ahead with his execution. You can help.
We can fight for justice, but we need you.
